There are at least two notable public golf courses in Louisiana that opened before 1935:
City Park Golf (Bayou Oaks) – New Orleans, opened 1902 City Park Golf actually opened in 1902 with four courses. After Hurricane Katrina devastated them in 2005, two courses were restored and remain open to the public today. South Course was redesigned by Rees Jones.
The Golf Club at Audubon Park – New Orleans Audubon Park Golf Club is described as the city's oldest golf course and while it was redesigned in 2001, it has roots well before 1935 and is open to the public.
