  • Located an hour north of Tampa International Airport
  • Cheapest from June 1 - October 1
  • Karoo: A dynamic 18-hole layout designed by Kyle Franz, Karoo features rugged aesthetics with wide fairways, multiple routes to pins, and bold green contours. Varied tee boxes give players a fresh look at the course’s features each time they play. Thoughtfully planned, Karoo rewards creative short-grass recovery shots around the greens. Golfers will encounter Sandhill Cranes throughout their round on this 7,201-yard design—these elegant birds are known to dance and sing, and their call is a loud trumpeting sound that is often described as a rolling karoo.
    • Silver Tees: 5,325 yards
    • Blue Tees: 4,223 yards
  • Roost: An 18-hole course that capitalizes on different environments—routing through the sandy, scrubby areas adjacent to Karoo, rolling meadows that are sprinkled with flowering dogwoods and native wildflowers, and even a 40-foot-deep sinkhole. The story behind Roost is an evolution of utilizing a multitude of different people’s talents to showcase the best from the property. Continuing Cabot CEO Ben Cowan-Dewar’s fascination of great collaborations, the principals of Roost includes Mike Nuzzo, Kyle Franz, Ran Mossisett, and Rod Whitman.
    • Silver Tees: 5,422 yards
    • Blue Tees: 4,124 yards
  • The Squeeze: Offers 9 holes that range from 100 yards to 550 yards, and architect Mike Nuzzo drew inspiration from the world’s best short par 4s to create a course that is full of fun and drama. The shape of the second green was inspired by the old-fashioned corrugated metal tin roofing used in miniature golf, the par-3 third hole has a memorably huge waste area, the fifth hole is designed with a winding fairway that ends with an undulating green, and so on. Playing over varied terrain, each hole at The Squeeze demands different strategies.
    • 10-hole, Par-38
    • Tangerine Tees: 2,590
    • Blue Tees: 1,793
  • The Wedge: Architect Mike Nuzzo did not stop making big features at The Squeeze—some of the most interesting features were saved for The Wedge. The 11-hole par-3 course offers huge waste areas, greens with dramatic slopes, and lots of varied lies. Golfers will encounter some of Cabot Citrus Farms’ most interesting design features at The Wedge, and lights located throughout the course means the party doesn’t stop at dusk.
    • 11-hole, Par-3 Course
    • 1,000 yards with tees from 77 to 108 yards

WINTER PARK
Winter Park Golf Course, 761 Old England Avenue Winter Park, Florida 32789
  • Nearly the cult favorite that Sweetens Cove is, Winter Park is the most exalted example of what imagination can do to reinvigorate an ancient muni. Located seven miles north of downtown Orlando, Winter Park opened its doors in 1914. Worn out and then some by 2014, it took on new life when the City of Winter Park enlisted Coore & Crenshaw associate Keith Rhebb and Integrated Golf’s Riley Johns to resuscitate it, for the modest budget of $1.2 million. Rhebb and Johns hit it out of the park. At just 2,480 yards with a par of 35, it’s only short on distance. It is muscular on atmosphere, a true urban park course, a la St. Andrews or North Berwick, as the course eases past two churches, a cemetery, and an active railway line. While still poker-table flat, Rhebb and Johns molded the greens and their surrounds into nine compelling challenges. Character, variety, and fun—all for a visitor’s rate of $20 during the week.
