Overall this is a great book. It covers almost everything needed for a trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro. After reading it I have decided to go up the Lemosho Route. It is the longest, so you get the most time to get used to the altitude. You get to enjoy the forest. Hey, it's Africa! Dar es Salaam looks boring. Nairobi looks to chaotic and is in Kenya. Arushu looks like a cool place to hang out for a few days.
I want to use an agency that treats its porters well. I am still not sure about how to pick an agency nor even if it is better to go with a Canadian one vs. one in Tanzania.
